---GHOSTPATH 1.42--- By Ascendant lastavenger90210@comcast.net TABLE OF CONTENTS: I. Installation/Uninstallation II. Playing the Mod III. Cast of Characters IV. Frequently Asked Questions V. Revisions from 1.4 VI. Special thanks --------------------------- INSTALLATION/UNINSTALLATION --------------------------- Unzip the folder from the .zip directly into the Data Files folder. The various folders items should go in the correct places, for once. To initiate it, click the little checkbox next to its name. --------------- PLAYING THE MOD --------------- 'Mkay, first off, the Ghostpath is meant for high-level characters. It will probably paste the floor with anyone who is under level 50. Yes, 50. Large amounts of high-level items will almost certainly be needed, but it is possible to beat it with "legitimate" characters, and you know who you aren't :). So how do I find this place, you ask? Simple. Look in a city whose name ends in -mora. ... ... ... Sadrith Mora, that is. Check out the hills the border town, you'll see an Old Shrine. After that, you can figure out how to do stuff yourself. ------------------ CAST OF CHARACTERS ------------------ The Caretaker: The lamentable hero who wished for too much and thus was punished. His tale has been mostly forgotten, but the Ghospath which he called to Earth is rife with stories of his mishap. Tomb Guardian: Ash Zombies on steroids. They look like their cousins, but don't be fooled, these things have 2000 psi punches. Fortunately, their brains have been scraped out, and are thus stupid as tree stumps. Lesser Daemon: Spiny thing that attacks with paralysis and other attack magic. He trucks quite a bit of hit points, but his melee skills are only average. Crypt Thing: The eternally tormented ghost of an angry wife. Her specialties include floating around, throwing spherical explosive objects at things, and scratching people with her long, excessively manicured nails. The stupid lady also locked the door to get to the next level, the coward. Flayer: Nasty little critters. They shoot first and ask questions later. They also have an insanely powerful melee attack. Best of all, they can't be killed! Well, they can, but you'll probably have to SWITCH sides *hint hint*. Exaderia: Ever wonder where Gillian Andersen ended up after the TV series "The X-Files"? No, she didn't quietly retire, she went insane, changed her name, and move in with the cuddly flayers. There'll be no Dana Scully here, folks, this time it's all about the pain. Unlike her pets, though, she dies like a normal person. Malice Knight: The Shrouded Sea was a dump, until he moved in. He's rennovated the place, but it's still a bit bare. Unfortunately, he's still in the process of redecorating, and gets really annoyed when people interrupt his work. Paradoxian: ...go see for yourself. And no, they are NOT on drugs. Widowed and Co: A sadistic bunch of lizardman warriors. They're not terribly strong individually, but in groups, they're nigh-unstoppable. Scorion Soulbane: Spirit of a long-dead warrior in the Shadowed Ruins. Unable to fulfill his duty, he must wander around in the Government Building forever. Sucks to be him, doesn't it? Shade: See, his duty was to kill this chick, but she ended up killing him instead. Oops. Anyway, she's an evil conniving...witch... who likes killing people. Abaddon: The big, bad overlord of Ghostpath. Standing inside a very dramatic antechamber, this demon prince is not to be trifled with. Armed with a compliment of uber spells and an unbeatable melee ability, he's easily the cheapest being in the Ghostpath. Take heart, though, you're not supposed to beat him. Hear that? YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BEAT HIM. If you can, then you're either a cheater or someone who spent way too much time at it. -------------------------- Frequently Asked Questions -------------------------- Q; I found a bug! What do I do? A: Email it to me at lastavenger90210@comcast.net; I'll let you know how to fix it, if possible, and if it's new, thank you as well. Q: I can't find a ____ door! Where did it go? A: I've had a few problems with this, regarding a trapdoor in the Ocean Fort Garrison, and the door to the Old Shrine. The former is indeed an error, and I'm not sure about the latter. Q: I can't kill the Flayers! What gives? A: Flayers are immortal. There's sixteen of 'em floating around, and the only way to kill them is to flip a switch. Each switch kills four at a time, four switches total. Q: What's up with the Shrouded Sea? A: This has always been an issue. It started out as a maze of sorts, but I couldn't get it to work due to a conflict with script conditions on the platforms. I finally gave it up and converted it to a boring boss battle. I'm drafting (and taking) new ideas for improvement. Q: What's up with these Masks? A: Envy, Funeral, and Greed Masks can be worn to elicit responses from certain Paradoxians. Q: I can't beat Abaddon! How am I supposed to kill him? A: You're not. But if you insist on trying, GO FOR RANGED COMBAT. His spells are nasty, but he's the Indomitable Patriarch of close-in fighting. Either way, prepare for a LONG fight. Q: Can I get Excalibur from the Sky Vaults? A: No. Q: Your mod rocks! Can I use it? A: As long as you email me and don't insult me, I will most definitely say yes. 99% chance. Also, give me feedback, since I don't have a team of testers or anything. Q: Your mod sucks! Go home! A: First, that's not a question. Second, my mod does not suck. There are worse out there. Q: Do you have any future plans? A: I'd like to be mysterious, but I won't be holding anyone in suspense so I'll give a vague idea. There are two options: one is a faction called Pentagram, which is basically the covert ops of Morrowind; the other is To-Morrowind, a humor-based quest. If you like the sense of humor in Ghostpath, To-Morrowind will be full of it, else... oh well. ------------------ REVISIONS FROM 1.4 ------------------ -fixed Pyramid of Foreboding traps (sort of) -fixed faulty Flayer scripts -changed Shrouded Sea -fixed some podiums in the Artisan's District -added a "roof" to the Residential District -added skill enhancements to artifact books -added Caretaker's Journal -changed lighting in Exaderia's Realm and Residential District -added Masks of Envy/Greed features -nerfed the Million Staff and Widowed Queen Staff -fixed Runeblade quest, where the merchant didn't sell his Essences -cleaned up the love quest, nerfed the reward -expanded Sky Vaults -added sound effects to the Bridge Between Worlds -made the hill on Ghostpath Island a little easier to climb -added grating to Abaddon's antechamber -nerfed the Nightgarb, Avatar, and Ascendant armors -modified the script the controls Abaddon -fixed that stupid hs_fire_crystal error -modified stars in Bridge Between Worlds -changed the hidind place of an Essence of Wind -the hint book for the essences is a little better -fixed Meshes/Icons errors--FINALLY -------------- SPECIAL THANKS -------------- -GlassBoy for indirectly showing me how to make my own glass creatures; -LordDrake for his rather excellent angel models, and the luciendar; -Morrowind Summit for being an unbeatable modding site; -The good people on the GameFAQs message boards who helped me with many a script; -and my former crush, Sarah, who partially inspired me to work on this thing Goodbye everybody!
