SPOILERS DESCRIPTION This is a small quest addition to the Mages' Guild quest "A Potion from Skink-in-tree's-shade" from Edwinna Elbert in Ald'ruhn, potentially restoring some cut content. If you paid close attention to the dialogue of the quest, you may have picked up on the fact that Skink seems to have had some trouble delivering the potion. Edwinna mentions how long she's been waiting, and Skink is very apologetic about it as well, but apparently the potion is immediately ready for delivery upon your arrival. There is some unused dialogue from Skink about ancestral tombs, suggesting there may originally have been more to this quest. What do ancestral tombs contain? Ghosts! What do you get from ghosts? Ectoplasm! What's ectoplasm good for? Detect Creatures potions! To me at least, it seems clear that the delay was due to Skink having trouble sourcing ectoplasm, and he may have been meant to send you on an errand to go fetch him some. So that's what this mod does. Skink now asks you for Ectoplasm and suggests you go looking for it in a tomb. Ever the diplomat, he's aware that the dunmer get upset when you raid their ancestor's final resting places, and suggests to find an abandoned one. If you wish to figure out the quest on your own, avoid the spoilers at the end of this document. If not, refer to section 8 of this readme for the solution(s) to the quest. REQUIREMENTS Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon. COMPATIBILITY This mod changes some dialogue and the relevant journal topic. Any mod that changes this quest is likely to be incompatible. Anything else is likely to be compatible. KNOWN ISSUES I've tried to make the dialogue as robust as possible, and I've tested everything extensively. If some bug has slipped through, please let me know. PERMISSIONS Anyone may freely modify, distribute, or rehost this mod as long as they include this readme and attribute credit to me, Seibaby, as the original author, and provided any modified work is published under its own name. CONTACT If you have questions, feedback, or bug reports, you may send me a message via Nexus, or find me in the Morrowind modding Discord. VERSION HISTORY Version 1.0.0 - Initial release SPOILERS DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU WISH TO FIGURE OUT THE QUEST ON YOUR OWN. Skinks suggests you go find an abandoned ancestral tomb: the Tharys Ancestral Tomb, a starter tomb just outside of Balmora, which is indeed abandoned as there are no living members of the Tharys family. However, if you ask the alchemists in town, they'll hint about more local resources, and direct you to the tavern. The scout at Dirty Muriel's Cornerclub will tell you there's are several tombs around Sadrith Mora, and suggest one just north of town (which happens to be the unremarkable Sadryon Ancestral Tomb, nonetheless filled with leveled undead ripe for harvesting). If you don't want to go tomb raiding, Skink seems to have overlooked the fact that Pierlette Rostorard, just down the road from Wolverine Hall, carries Ectoplasm. When you return with some Ectoplasm, Skink then sends you on another fetch quest for some Bloat, another ingredient with the Detect Animal property. Thankfully, he knows where to get some: Anis Seloth, the premier town Alchemist, sells it. Veteran Morrowind players are probably aware that you can buy Bloat from Aunius Autrus, just downstairs, as well. Finally, if you REALLY want to cheese this quest, you can buy both Ectoplasm and Bloat from Anarenen in Ald'ruhn before heading over to Wolverine Hall. ___ ___ ___/ \______________________________________________________________/ \___ / \___/ \___/_ \ \__/ \ A GRAVE ERRAND / \_/ \___/_________________________________________________________________\___/
