Name: Cancel Your Attacks Category: Gameplay Effects and Changes Requirements: Oblivion Patch 1.2.0.214 Author(s): Documn Download URL: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25202 ======= HISTORY ======= ** 2, 06/23/2009 - Bug fix: if you were holding down block, sometimes your first attack or cast would be interrupted by an animation. This should not happen anymore. ** 1, 06/17/2009 - Initial release. =========== DESCRIPTION =========== Tap or press and hold your BLOCK key while attacking to cancel your attack. You WILL NOT cancel your attack if you attack while holding down your block key. If you do it correctily, this mod will interrupt your attack animation with either the BlockHit, Recoil, or TorchIdle animations, then immediately follow it with the Idle animation. The final result differs based on which animation you use, and whether or not you're using any mods that change these animations. The default animation is BlockHit, but you can change it with the following console command: set dadocblock to [number] Change [number] to 0 to use BlockHit, 1 for Recoil, and 2 for TorchIdle. I suggest you try all three and choose the one you like. Here are descriptions of what you get with the vanilla Oblivion animations: - BlockHit is a simple, very short animation. - Recoil looks just like the normal recoil, but unlike a normal recoil, you are able to block and attack. - TorchIdle works much differently. After you cancel your attack, the attack animation will play to the end but there will be no sound effect and you won't hit anything. You will not be able to start another attack until the current attack finishes. In the meantime, if you block with a shield, it will look like you're blocking and attacking at the same time. If you are blocking without a shield, the block animation will override the attack animation, but if you stop blocking, the attack animation will resume if it hasn't already completed. I have tried a bunch of other animation groups, but most of them work similarly to TorchIdle, with the added bonus of looking even goofier. ============= COMPATIBILITY ============= This mod's script only runs on a single frame at a time: the instant when the player presses block while attacking. If you use mods that run animation functions on the player at this exact same moment, then they may conflict. I don't use any animation mods that affect these animation groups, so I don't know what they will look like or how they'll behave. If you use one of these kinds of mods (DMC Stylish, Weaponskill PowerAttackReplacer, etc.), please let me know well or how poorly it works. ======= INSTALL ======= 1. Make and activate an OMOD or 1.
