INFORMATION ON THE MOD ************************************************************************ This mod adds a castle with a black interior and horrible creatures lurking in the shadows. The castle interior is made from shiny, mottled, black tiles for a really different look. The castle is very dark inside, and with light levels set to 0, all the light comes from sparingly used light sources. To explore this dungeon, you are going to need some good light spells or night eye, and some patience and awareness of your surroundings. Inside the castle are some weird creatures. They have edited stats, shaders, inventories, spells, and abilities. Two of the creatures are retextured. The goal was to make things look and feel a little different from vanilla Oblivion. The weapons have also been tweaked so that some vanilla Oblivion and Shivering Isles weapon models that you do not see every day are used with new weapons with changed stats. There is one retextured weapon included. The dungeon has five cells and the castle exterior. In addition to the special weapons this mod includes, there is ordinary treasure in chests with difficult locks, and a special scripted spellbook guarded by a boss and his really tough bodyguard. This spellbook allows you to cast a really wild and potentially dangerous summoning spell unlike any other you have seen before. Thank goodness the book also allows you to cast an unsummoning spell too. This dungeon is hard enough that you may need to be level 15 or higher to beat it. The castle is located on the Hammerfell/Cyrodiil border north-east of the source of the Brena River. This is beyond the area modded by Unique Landscapes - Brena River Ravine and does not conflict. This mod automatically removes borders so you do not need to modify your .ini file. ************************************************************************ 2. Installation ************************************************************************ You must install both the .esm (Obsidian Interior Castle Tileset.esm) and the .esp (Stygian Castle.esp) You must install the meshes and textures from both files. Both files are included in this download. For each file, Extract (decompress) the "Data" folder to your Oblivion directory, the default is: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\ Say "yes" if it asks if you want to merge folders. In your mod manager, mark the boxes next to both "Obsidian Interior Castle Tileset.esm" and Stygian Castle.esp. ************************************************************************ 3. Version History ************************************************************************ V 1.0 1/30/11 Initial Release. ************************************************************************ 4. Conflicts, Known Issues, and Troubleshooting ************************************************************************ This dungeon is supposed to be very dark. That was my intention. If you can't see to navigate through the dungeon, get some brighter light spells, or use night eye. You can also look at the local area map to see which direction you should go. You could also adjust your game or computer monitor settings. This mod requires both Shivering Isle and Obsidian Interior Castle Tileset.esm. Failure to install and activate these pieces of software will prevent Oblivion from running when Stygian Castle.esp is active. If you think the mod is too hard and can't figure out how to permanently kill the skeletons, read the spoiler document. IF ANYONE DETECTS A MAJOR BUG WHICH MAKES THE MOD UNPLAYABLE, PLEASE SEND DAVID BRASHER A PERSONAL MESSAGE ON TES NEXUS RIGHT AWAY. HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE ABLE TO FIX IT AND RELEASE AN IMPROVED VERSION OF THIS MOD. ************************************************************************ 5.
