Version: 1.0 Date: 4/14/2014 Category: Player Home Author: Riley Marks Description =========== This mod contains a ship that has been turned into a player's home. Background ========== This mod originally started out as a small piece of a much larger mod that I decided to release as a standalone mod. I created this home basically for my own self and I'm only releasing it in case anyone else would like to use it. That means that this house was created with my playstyle and preferences, which may not be suitable for most players. Location ========= The ship is called The Caldonia, and it comes with its own stable/workshop building, both located south of Culotte. The locations are shown by two map markers that you can fast travel to as soon as you load the game. The Caldonia Ship marker places you on the ship itself, the Caldonia Stable marker places you inside the stable. If you are traveling via a horse I would suggest using the stable marker. Then you can easily dismount the horse, open the gate, and close the gate behind you without worrying about trying to lead your horse into the stable (thanks goes to Korana for this suggestion). Disclaimer (You have been warned!) ================================= 1. I do not use companions so please do not ask me to make this companion friendly. There is pathing throughout the house, but that's as far as I went for making it compatible with companions (mainly did this in case I wanted to add a pet later on.) 2. I do not use any other mods other than Midas Magic and Unique Landscapes Compilation OMOD so I have not tested this mod with anything else. There are too many mods out there that change so many things that it is almost impossible to make a mod compatible with them all. And since I don't use them I see no point in spending my time trying to do so. 3. I'm a modder, if I want something to be on display I just put it on display via the CS, so although this mod has free storage you will not find any display cases or empty bookshelves for you to clutter. 4. I like convenience, and being able to do all the things I need to do all in one stop is fun for me. So if you feel that being able to summon a private merchant, fixing your own armor with unlimited hammers, eliminating diseases and other ailments, creating custom spells, mixing potions, and creating enchantments is just what you like, then come on in! If it sounds a bit overpowering or too convenient for your style, this may not be what you're looking for. 5. There are containers that respawn food, ingredients, potions, soul gems, lockpicks, gold, scrolls, weapons, and armor. Some of the respawning containers contain custom made levelled loot so you won't always get the exact same thing every time. 6. Everything in this mod has been altered by me to be static, to keep painstakingly-placed objects from being destroyed by some invisible hand the minute the door is opened. Everything will stay in its place. 7. And last but important to note: the mod is not in OMOD or Wrye Bash format; I will be neither providing nor supporting those formats for this mod, so please don't ask. In other words, if you know how to do this yourself for your own game, go ahead, but don't come to me for help. Features (skip if you don't like spoilers) ======== Enchanting Anvil and Hammer - easily repair your weapons (located in the forge). Summoned Merchant - summon your very own private merchant. He will buy anything regardless of whether you stole it or not. Click on the beating heart in the lab to summon him. Click on the heart again to dismiss him. Spellmaking Ball - used to create custom spells (located in the laboratory). Enchanting Crystal - used to enchant items (located in the laboratory). Alchemy Equipment - used to create potions (located in the laboratory) Hot Bath - casts Altar of the Nine spell to wash away diseases, poisons, and other ailments (located in the bathroom). Washstand - casts a small spell to enhance personality for a limited time. Private Horse - Hennessey can be your own private steed. He has all the same stats as Shadowmere, with the exception of 10 more attack points and 50 more health points. There's room in the stable for a second horse, too, if you prefer to bring your own. Enchanted Apple - find this apple on the crates in front of the forge and eat it. It will add a Summon Steed spell that allows you call Hennessy (and only Hennessy) to your location. You have to have mounted the horse once for it to take effect. Containers ========== There are of course safe containers that will not respawn located throughout the ship and in the forge. These containers all contain the prefix "My" for easy identification. For example...My Drawers, My Wardrobe, My Storage Crate are all safe containers and will not respawn. Not the most imaginative names I admit, but at least it should make it easy to keep track of what containers you can store your belongings in. All other containers will respawn. Bugs/Issues =========== None that I have found. Conflicts ========= * This mod will of course conflict with any mod that makes any changes to the landscape or location where the ship resides. * As with any mod you should always make a copy of your saved game just in case there are any conflicts. * This mod contains no quests (the ship is yours free and clear) and only the simplest of scripts, but mods can have a way of causing trouble in the most remote fashion so I'm telling you to use this mod at your own risk. I will not be held responsible if it screws up your saved game or blows up your computer. * This mod has been cleaned with TES4Gecko so there shouldn't be any dirty references. Manual Installation =================== 1. EITHER: Extract the files to a temporary location and then copy all the files to your Oblivion\Data\ folder, OR: Extract the files directly into your Oblivion\Data\ folder; 2. Activate the Pirate Ship.esp Uninstallation ============== 1. Delete the RM folder in the Data\Meshes and Textures folders. 2. Delete the RM folder in Data\Textures\Menus\Icons folder. 3. Special Thanks ============== Bess - For all the testing and giving me very helpful and practical suggestions to help make this mod more user friendly. Thank you! Jbvw for his exquisite Vaernlor Manor mod which provided many of the meshes and textures I have shamelessly exploited in most of my creations. Stroti for his many resources that I think all modders would agree have become almost a prerequisite in any decent home mod. Thanks to Bethesda for creating Oblivion. Thanks to TESNexus.com for the a one-stop-shop resource for authors and players. Thanks to NifSkope for providing me with the tools necessary to make all my mods.
