Description: Completely edited Oblivion.ini file that's now optimized specifically for performance. This has taken me hours and this is the only thing that I could find that works without adding mods. This will give you a playable framerate even if you're using integrated graphics. Credits: I'd like to give thanks to everyone that has downloaded my file. Hopefully this has helped you as it has helped me play this game. I have a Mobile Intel (R) 4 Family Express Chipset with an Intel (R) Core 2 Duo T6500 @2.10 Ghz and I am able to play this game at 30FPS. Originally (with no mods), I could only run this at 9 FPS. With mods, I was able to run it at 15 FPS. Without mods and with this INI tweak I am able to run it at 20-30 FPS. I have not tested this with mods, so I will not be able to give an FPS benchmark for this. INI Edits: Basically, I've removed shadows and lowered the textures of grass and trees. I've lowered the quality of landlod and waterlod. Since I'm unable to remove shadows completely, I had only removed the actor shadows, diffusepass and drawshadows. I disabled maxlandscapetextures and fullbrightlighting and dynamicwindowlighting. There are so many things I've disabled and just way too much to list. Update 2: Removed grass shaders and hair shaders. Update 3: Removed grass and trees. The landscape will now look depressingly barren, but hopefully it increases performance. I've also removed video loading so now load screens will load faster by just a bit. Update 4: Wasn't able to remove rocks and anything else useless, but I was able to increase performance and increase quality. I have removed water shadows and landscape shadows so the landscape will look low quality, but it's actually set to it's max size. If you don't want it at its max size and want a better FPS, I'll leave it up to you. I have set the filtering to x16 as well. Update 5: Re-enabled trees, re-enabled distancelod and disabled grass. Don't bother changing tree distance, it won't change their distance at all. It shouldn't really affect performance too much, but overall it will make the landscape look less barren. You're welcome! Future update: Possibly won't have one. This has been a great experience and I plan to do this will Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Skyrim.
