............................................................ Name: Camping Version: 2.6.0 Author: LtMattmoo Released: 07/03/12 Category: Immersion Skyrim Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11074 Steam Workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=12454 ............................................................ Description =========== This plugin introduces Dovahkiin to the wonders of sleeping under the stars by adding camping gear to Skyrim's general goods stores. Every major general store in Skyrim, as well as a few trade caravans, will now occasionally stock these items which include a tent, an Imperial tent, a tinderbox, a cooking pot and a mortar and pestle. In addition, camping gear can also be crafted. Features ======== The features of this plugin consist primarily of, but are not limitted to, new items which can be either bought at a general goods store or crafted. These features are detailed below. Tent ---- Cheap and primitive, the standard Nordic tent provides a bed for the night wherever you may be. Simply Drop it from your inventory to spend the next in-game hour (don't worry, we skip that bit for you) pitching. Once assembled, your tent, and sporting bedroll, can be used as any other. Once you're done resting, activate the tent while sneaking to begin striking it. It is also possible to get hold of an Imperial tent. They cost more because their modern design makes them stronger, lighter, and more stylish. Besides that, an Imperial tent functions like any other. Be cautious when pitching a tent. Trying to pitch in a small or cluttered area is likely to glitch you up, so look to pitch in flat, clear areas. Also, pitching a tent is a long, loud task. Be careful not to try it near hostiles less you attract their attention to you. Tinderbox --------- Used by dropping it from your inventory, a tinderbox allows you to turn (6) firewood into a light, warm campfire. A campfire will burn out after roughly 1 and a half in-game hours if not regularly topped up with wood. Once burnt out, a campfire can be reignited using your tinderbox and (3) more firewood by activating it while sneaking. If wooden or otherwise flamable objects are left on a Campfire, it may consume them and burn for longer. Fast-burning or small objects such as books or hats will burn for roughly 5 more minutes while larger objects such as firewood or hides will burn for roughly 15 more minutes. Deadra hearts, taproots and some flamable armours may burn for an extra half-hour. If not reignited for a while, an unattended campfire will eventually degrade away. Cast Iron Cooking Pot --------------------- Having been in Skyrim under the name "Cast iron pot" from the start, these small cooking pots now have a use; cooking, ironically. With a Cast Iron Cooking Pot in your inventory, activate a burning campfire while standing to begin. Alchemy Table ------------- Merchants across Skyrim can now be known to stock the occasional Alembic. On their own, these miscellaneous items are useless, but they are a vital part of crafting an Alchemy Table. Camping-grade Alchemy Tables take very little time to assemble, although the process can still attract unwanted attention. As with tents, drop one from your inventory to assemble it and activate it while sneaking to put it away. Activating an Alchemy Table while standing will utilize it as a regular Alchemy Lab. Mortar and Pestle ----------------- Some alchemists would think carrying an entire Alchemy Lab around to be an unrealistic idea. Others are simply not skilled enough to craft one. For these people, there's the Mortar and Pestle. Strait from Cyrodil, a Mortar and Pestle allows you to alchemix where you stand. Just drop it from your inventory to begin. It's worth mentioning, though, that a full Alchemy Lab is far more efficient for practicing alchemy, and any potions or poisions created without one suffers a -25% effectivity. That is, you can only alchemix at 75% your full capability when only using a Mortar and Pestle. Tanning Rack ------------ With the right materials and enough skill, you can craft your own Tanning Racks. These are interacted with in the same way as the camping-grade Alchemy Tables and can attract just as much attention, though they don't take as long to assemble. Seats ----- Settling down by a nice, warm campfire just isn't the same without somewhere to sit. General Stores now occasionally stock Camping Chairs and Camping Stools for just that purpose. Dropping one from your inventory will place it down ready for the sitting. Activating one while sneaking will pick it back up again. Storage Sack ------------ All that loot weighing you down? Need somewhere safe to stash it while you head off for more? Well, wait no longer. The solution is here! Simply throw down a Storage Sack by dropping it from your inventory and fill it up with all your burdens. When deployed, a Storage Sack can be activated like any other container or activated while sneaking to be retrieved and returned to your inventory. When you retrieve a Storage Sack, all of the items that it is storing are also returned to your inventory. By holding the activate key, Storage Sacks can also be dragged around for better placement. Wood Gathering ============== With a Woodcutter's Axe in hand, you can now gather Firewood from trees. Over 47,000 trees (hopefully, all of them) across Skyrim can now be "harvested" for (2) Firewood by activating them. This works as with any other harvestable resource, one-use per plant but regrowing over time, except that you must have a Woodcutter's Axe equipped and drawn in order to succeed. Crafting Recipes ================ Camping gear can be crafted. So long as you have at least one of a required material, the recipes will show up in the vanilla crafting workstations. ---Tanning Rack--- - Tent: 8 Firewood, 12 Leather, 1 Storage Sack. - Imperial Tent: 8 Leather Strips, 8 Firewood, 15 Leather, 1 Storage Sack. - Storage Sack: 1 Leather Strips, 2 Linen Wrap. ---Forge/Anvil--- - Cast Iron Cooking Pot: 1 Iron Ingot. ---Workbench--- To craft on a Workbench you will have to activate it while sneaking. Activating a Workbench while standing will only allow you to tamper armour as usual. - Tinderbox: 1 Steel Ingot, 2 Charcoal. - Alchemy Table: 1 Charcoal, 1 Alembic, 2 Iron Ingot, 8 Firewood. You must be at least level 30 in Alchemy to craft an Alchemy Table. - Tanning Rack: 6 Firewood, 6 Leather Strips. - Mortar and Pestle: 1 Firewood. - Camping Stool: 5 Firewood. - Camping Chair: 6 Firewood. Installation ============ Camping installs as a simple plugin and archive. Simply copy lt_camping.esp and lt_camping.bsa to your Skyrim/Data directory and activate Camping within your favourite mod manager. Known Bugs and Issues ===================== First of all, this plugin is incompatible with any other mod which directly alters the inventory of any general goods merchant, exclusive of the market stalls. I doubt anything nasty will result in a confliction caused by this but, unless Camping is loaded after the conflicting plugin, camping gear will not be available for purchase as intended. Aditionally, any plugin which alters the Base Object of any tree is also likely to conflict. Again, this shouldn't be a massive problem, but, unless Camping is loaded after the conflicting plugin, affected trees will not be harvestable for Firewood. It has been reported that using a Mortar and Pestle can cause CTDs. I'm yet to manage to recreate this bug myself so any information that you can give me about your experiences regarding the Mortar and Pestles would be much appreciated. Planned Features ================ Actually, I'm all but done here. All suggestions that have not made it into the plugin so far, I have either given up with or decided against. Credits ======= Specifically, I would like to thank McGuffin at Steam for his vital role in making this plugin compatible with Nitor's Hypothermia. Additionally, my thanks go out to the chaps over at Freesound.org as I've come to depend heavily on their free resources, and everyone who has made a suggestion that has made its way into implimentation. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.. Cheers to y'all! ~ LtMattmoo
