-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scream of Wilhelm --- by miken700 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overview: This mod simply adds a chance that people will yell out the renowned Wilhelm Scream when they die. May the scream be heard throughout the Reach! The Wilhelm Scream has been featured in many movies and games over the years, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdbYsoEasio, and now has been added to Skyrim! Description: With this mod The Wilhelm Scream may be yelled when at death. This can be anything and anyone one kills or sees killed on their adventures in Skyrim, including the Dragon-born himself / herself. Settings: Global settings are available for tweaking the percent chance of the scream. These settings are currently only tweakable in the console. Perhaps later I'll make this more accessible somehow. Instructions: - open the console ("~" or key in the upper left), then, - type "help wilhelmscream 3" (without quotes) to view the current values and aids in finding the correct spelling of the variables. - type "set WilhelmScreamChanceNPC to 50" to set NPC chance to 50%. - type "set WilhelmScreamChanceCreature to 50" to set creature chance to 50%. - close the console (the same key used to open the console) - the settings will be saved when you save your game - Setting Details - WilhelmScreamChanceNPC - chance that humanoids (NPC's) will yell the scream at death - set to 20 for 20% chance. Expected values are between 0 and 100 (0 is never, and 100 is always). default: 20 - value is saved in save-files - WilhelmScreamChanceCreature - chance that creatures (all non-NPC's) will yell the scream at death - set to 20 for 20% chance. Expected values are between 0 and 100 (0 is never, and 100 is always). default: 5 - value is saved in save-files Notes: Shortly before I uploaded this mod (after a bunch of development, redevelopment testing, etc). I found that there is now another Wilhelm Scream mod out there by Matziq, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3184. You can imagine me crying the Wilhelm Scream at that point. That mod seems to simply replace the common "ta-da" sound which happens at character death (or maybe it's just for crit hits?) as well as a number of other common events seems like. This mod is specific to humanoid death (that is, the combat dialog death category) and just adds the scream to the list of things that may be uttered at one's death. This does not change any existing sounds or any other things. Version: 1.5 Installation: Activate via Nexus Mod Manager. There are no known conflicts with other mods nor do I forsee any. It can be added manually by extracting files into the Skyrim's Data folder then activating the data/plugin file (esp file). But it's recommended to use the Nexus Mod Manager as it is the supported way and is an easier install. Un-installation: Deactivate via Nexus Mod Manager. If installed from a manual installation, just deactivate the data file and optionally remove the files added files by the manual installation. Known Issues: None known. Updates: 1.0 - Initial Release 1.5 - Refactored to allow explicit setting of percent chance of the scream. Added global settings to tweak the chances for both NPC's and creatures. Permission Notes: This mod is in the public domain. The audio comes from audio that is already in the public domain.
