MORE USEFUL INGOTS by TravLaney INTRODUCTION ---------------------------------- This mod was born out of frustration with the Hearthfire DLC. It seemed like every single component of the house relied on Iron Ingots for its construction...hinges, fittings, nails, everything. So I was constantly running out of iron, and forced to run all over Tamriel to buy iron from blacksmiths. I had plenty of other ingots, though. It seemed strange that someone who was skilled in working other metals couldn't make a bucket of nails out of any other kind of metal. This mod does three things: 1. It allows you to make Nails, Locks, Hinges, and Fittings out of any metal ingot, not just Iron. 2. It renames "Iron Fittings" to "Metal Fittings," for better immersion. 3. It lets you craft 3 Lockpicks from any metal ingot. If you already have a mod that allows you to craft lockpicks from iron and/or steel ingots, I recommend using the "No Iron or Steel Lockpicks" version of this mod. Otherwise, you will get duplicate recipes in your crafting menu. REQUIREMENTS ---------------------------------- Skyrim Hearthfire DLC (or Skyrim Legendary Edition) INSTALLATION ---------------------------------- Download and install this mod through the Nexus Mod Manager. This mod does not use scripts, so it should be safe to add into an existing game. UNINSTALLATION ---------------------------------- Delete this mod from the Nexus Mod Manager, or delete the .esp file from your Skyrim data directory. This mod does not use scripts, so it should be safe to uninstall from an existing game. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ---------------------------------- Q: Why can't I make lockpicks out of Malachite, Moonstone, Dragonbone, or Dragon Scales? A: They aren't metal ingots. Q: Why can't I make lockpicks out of Gold or Silver? A: Silver and gold are metal, but in my mind they are too soft and flexible to be useful in this manner. And besides, there are already tons of uses for these ingots. Q: Why only 3 lockpicks per ingot? I think there should be X instead. A: I felt that 3 was a good usable number. If you disagree, it's a simple fix in TES5Edit. Q: Can I use this in my own mod? Distribute it to other websites? Print out the code and rub it all over my body? A: Sure. I made this mod in literally 15 minutes. Anyone could.
