Dual Wield Parrying mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Forum thread: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1347156-wipz-dual-wield-parrying-almost-relz/ Version 1.00 12 February 2012 Borgut1337 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements ------------------------------------------------------------------- - A working version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ------------------------------------------------------------------- Recommended ------------------------------------------------------------------- Deadly Combat: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5485 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Mod Description ------------------------------------------------------------------- Shortly after dual wielding in skyrim had been announced, people started wondering about the controls and whether bethesda would allow dual wielders to parry/block. And ever since it was known that dual wielders in skyrim would be unable to parry attacks, many people were disappointed and have requested for mods to change this. So here I am to bring this mod! Now there is unfortunately also bad news. In order to allow parrying, I had to replace another move with the parrying and I decided to replace the dual power attack. What this means for controls: - All moves using a single hand are still available with same controls (so left hand attacks and power attacks and right hand attacks and power attacks) - Pressing both mouse buttons and holding them will raise both weapons for a short time in order to parry, and after that short time you will automatically lower your weapons again. - Clicking both mouse buttons (so not holding them) will put you in a kind of ''blocking stance'' where you will automatically keep your weapons raised in a parrying position. This stance can be broken by: - sheathing your weapons - jumping - getting staggered - performing a power attack with your right mouse button For those wondering whether I implemented these controls like this on purpose; no. I just tried some things and it happened to work out this way, but I personally like it ten times better than not having the ability to defend yourself at all. Of course, these controls sound a bit complex now, but you really just have to try them out and in a couple of minutes you will get used to them. That's how it worked for me anyway. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation ------------------------------------------------------------------- Extract the downloaded archive in a temporary location.
