___________________________________________ Sleepless Nights ___________________________________________ Nov 9, 2018 Version: 1.01 Written by: Dheu Email: Dheuster@gmail.com Use subject: SN Version 1.01 QUICK SUMMARY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A simple mod that makes it unsafe to rest in uninhabited areas at night. Your sleep can be interrupted by an enemy ambush or any number of wasteland creatures. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Requirements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sleepless Nights v1.01 was compiled with Fallout 4 patch 1.10.114. It may or may not work with older versions of Fallout 4. This Mod does NOT require any DLC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > Details ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A) How Often will you get attacked? In normal mode, you are safe to sleep in the daytime. The probability of being attacked at night is determined by how long you sleep and your luck 1 hour : 10% chance of being attacked 2 hours : 13% chance of being attacked 4 hours : 20% chance of being attacked 8 hours : 50% chance of being attacked Luck: Poor Luck (0 -> 3) multiplies odds of getting attacked by 1.25 Good Luck (7 -> 9) multiplies odds of getting attacked by 0.75 Great Luck (10+) multiplies odds of getting attacked by 0.50 Example: If you sleep for 7 hours, normally there is a 20% chance of being attacked. If your luck score is 3 or less, that increases to a 25% chance. If your luck is 10 or more, odds drop to a 10% chance. While you can remain lucky for some time, the mod also enforces a maximum number of sleeps before a mandatory attack. This can be configured to be as high as 10 sleeps. But once the max is reached, the next sleep attempt in an unsafe area will result in an attack. B) Enemies The number of enemies in a wave is determined by your level. Not only do enemies level up with the player, but their numbers increase. After level 35, there is a 50% chance you will get a second random wave of enemies when you are attacked. IE: You might get a group of deathclaws AND a group of raiders all at once. C) Safe Locations and Times You are always 100% safe to sleep in big cities such as Diamond City, Goodneighber, Bunker Hill and Vault 81. You are also generally safe to sleep in your Factions Stronghold. (Minuteman Stronghold is Castle and is not safe in Nightmare mode). In normal mode, you are safe to sleep in owned settlements, but only if the defense rating is 20 or higher. If it falls below 20, the settlement is also not safe. In normal mode, you can sleep during the daytime and remain safe. So long as you don't begin or end outside the danger window (9:30 PM to 5:30 AM). Finally, if you are attacked on a given day, you will not be attacked again for the remainder of that day unless you enable the option to allow multiple attacks per day (disabled by default). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Nightmare Mode ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NightMare Mode is an optional mode for users who want a challenge and like reloading save games. =) A) Changes - You can be attacked anytime you sleep, day or night. - Normal Settlements no longer offer protection. Only Big Cities. - Every 7th day, sleeping carries a 50% chance of waking to a Ghoul Horde B) Ghoul Horde A ghoul horde is a sizable group of ghouls that arrive in 3 waves. Each wave is tougher than the previous. Hi-level glowing ghouls can emit a radiation burst that heals and resurrects nearby dead ghouls from earlier waves. This is what makes Ghoul Hordes particularly dangerous. One stray boss can resurrect all 3 previous waves at once. So keep an eye on your Game Day. If it is divisible by 7, watch out. Furthermore, The ghoul horde roll doesn't care how many hours you slept or if there are already 2 waves of enemies from earlier rolls. The only way to avoid the possibility of a Ghoul Horde is to not sleep, find shelter in a big city/faction stronghold or... disable Nightmare mode =) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Daydream Mode ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daydream Mode is an optional mode for users who want sleepless nights to be less challenging so they dont have to reload their save games as much. A) Changes - You can sleep up to 2 hours with 0% chance of being interrupted. - Sleeping for 3 or 4 hours is less risky. - The Max Number of Sleeps before a mandatory attack is doubled. - Sleeping within the boundaries of any settlement is safe. You dont have to own it and no minimum defense rating is required. Vaults are also safe due to their sturdy construction. - Enemies still level with the player, but the number of enemies stops increasing at level 20. - Behemoths and Deathclaws will never interrupt your sleep - No possibility of a second wave of enemies or Ghoul Horde. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > DLC Support ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Verison 1.01 Supports DLCs. It recognizes Far Harbor, Arcadia, Nuka Town, Vault 88 as safe locations to sleep. It also incorporates DLC specific enemies when you are in DLC maps. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Usage ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I.
