Version History 1. Introduction: ---------------- As a kid, I once visited Arlington Home with my father while he was in D.C. for a buisness trip. I remember being moved by the beauty of the grounds and of the house itself. So it came as a bit of a disheartening shock to see such a historic landmark's portrayal in FO3 as just a generic track home cluttered with modern appliances. The Arlington Home Restoration Project is my meager attempt to rectify what, I thought, was a glaring oversight on Bethesda's part. An attempt to bring FO3's Arlington Home more closely in line with the real Arlington Home - both on the interior and the exterior. This is NOT a player-home mod, and does not have many of the convieniences you'd expect from such. However, if you do wish to use it as a player home, all of the containers should be safe and the interior is marked as player-owned. The raiders will respawn, however. I may make it convertable to a player home in later revisions if there is enough interest in it. With that said, thank you for downloading this mod, and I hope you have as much fun using it as I had in making it. 2. Requirements ---------------- Fallout 3 and Point Lookout. 3. Installation. ---------------- Simply unzip the archive to your Fallout 3 Data folder and merge folders when prompted. Then activate "ArlingtonRestoration.esp" in your load order via FOMM. If you are updating from earlier versions, it's important that you preform a clean save - as the interior has undergone substantial revisioning and you may experience placement glitches. To do this, simply deactivate the ArlingtonRestoration.esp in your load order, start your game wait a few moments, then save your game again. Exit your game and reactivate the ArlingtonRestoration.esp file in your load order. 4. Known Issues & Incompatibilities ----------------------------------- This mod will be incompatible with any mod that makes changes to Arlington Origin or the original Arlington House interior. There are quite a few enemy spawns inside, so if you have any mods which increase enemy spawns or damage, you may want to turn them down/off or otherwise be extremely cautious. I believe I have fixed the majority (if not all) of the collision geometry errors from the previous versions, and I also set up room markers and portals to optimize preformance. You may still get some slowdown in a few areas where your line-of-sight crosses all three room-markers, but overall it should preform much better. 5. Thanks/Credits: ------------------ Bethesda, for creating a game I still want to mod and play all these years later. I used a number of various resources in the making of this mod, and many of the resources I used were modified or are mash-ups of serveral different resources.
