FNV Armor Rebalance - 0.1.1 A mod that try to rebalance the armor system in New Vegas. Mainly strengthened medium and heavy armors. :: INTRODUCTION :: FNV Armor Rebalance is a mod aiming to improve the balance of the armor system in Fallout: New Vegas. Compared to light armor, the medium/heavy armor have a bit more DT, but less Carry Weight/Movement Speed and lack perk's support. Many well-designed medium/heavy armors are rarely used. So I made this mod to improve it. The mod mainly buffed medium/heavy armors by introducing a Set Bonus System and adjusting some perks to support them. :: REQUIREMENTS :: • New Vegas up to date • All DLC :: FEATURES :: • Set Bonus System • More perks that support medium/heavy armor • Fix some bugs related to armor • Compatibility patch for Project Nevada(core) :: NOTABLE CHANGE :: Armor • Now when you wear a full set of armor(armor and helmet,e.g Riot Gear and Riot Gear Helmet) you gain an additional Damage Resistance(Fire Resistance/Posion Resistance/Rad Resistance/other property) bonus. Medium/Heavy armor's bonus is higher than that of light armor. • Power armor don't need Power Armor Training any more. Besides, Power Armor Training will give all power armor(except NCR Salvaged Power Armor, which has a initial +5% DR) +10% DR and +(half of the armor set weight) Carry Weight. Perk • Light Touch now don't check armor type and take effect when inventory weight is less than 160(Contrary to Hoarder, and with Project Nevada it's 0.75 of your max Carry Weight). • Pack Rat is medium armor's perk now and only take effect when wearing full set of medium/armor(armor and helmet). • Similarly, Heavy Weight only works with heavy armor. • New perk Offence And Defense : You gain +5% DR when you wear medium armor, and +5% critical hit chance when you use small guns (pistols, rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, energy pistols and energy rifles). • New perk Never Back Down : When wearing heavy armor and standing still, you gain +10% DR. Besides, +5% critical hit chance when you use heavy weapons, energy heavy weapons, melee weapons and unarmed weapons. • Travel Light and Tunnel Runner now check helmet type as well as armor. Other • Glasses no longer conflict with some masks,so now you can wear 1st Recon Beret, Lucky Shades and Ulysses' Mask together. :: INSTALLATION :: • Recommend to use Vortex to install/uninstall. • Or just unzip the file to the New Vegas/Data/ folder.(Delete them to uninstall) :: COMPATIBILITY :: • Compatible with most popular mods except mod that tweaks the original armor in the game. • For Project Nevada(core) there is a compatible patch. :: SUGGESTION :: • Recommend to play without mods that import a large number of new armor which are often too powerful for the base game and will almost certainly break the balance. • Recommend to play without mods that greatly changed the balance system. :: RECOMMENDED MODS :: - FNV Weapon Rebalance - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67472 - My mod that improve the weapon balance system - Project Nevada(core) - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40040 - Great mod, and make perks related to Carry Weight(Light Touch/Hoarder/etc..) more powerful. :: KNOWN ISSUES :: • Currently the mod is still under development.
