Hard Luck Blues - Quest Expanded changes and expands few aspects of the Hard Luck Blues quest to improve gameplay and add extra roleplay options. As of version 1.0, the mod adds: - two extra endings to the quest, achieved through a few distinct choices that can be activated in-terminals or in-game - extra player skill checks to ensure the outcome is more dependent on your character's stats and your choices - a new reward for finishing the quest (provided you help the vault dwellers), since in the base game the quest reward is bugged and player is given... nothing. In order to improve roleplaying aspects of the quest (and inspired by classic RPGs) good and bad options are not marked in any way. Some options require a skill check without any information given. Roleplay your character as you wish and see your ending. TIP: Hacking a reactor and overriding its controls is not easy and even with a direct manual, most people wouldn't be able to do it. If you want to see all extra options, see the spoiler section in the mod description. Link to the mod: INSTALLATION Place the *.esp file in the Data folder (just like with pretty much any other mod) REQUIREMENTS Fallout New Vegas UNINSTALLATION Delete the *.esp file (also just like any other mod) The mod has been tested on a fresh install of FNV on GOG (windows 10, 64 bit) without any other mods. Should be compatible with anything that doesn't the Hard Luck Blues quest or its terminals. If you wanna be sure, put it below a mod you suspect of also altering these files. Should be compatible with Vault 34 Ghouls wear suits (however this was untested). I recommend the espless version to make sure that no files contradict. FUTURE PLANS Ideally, the quest reward would be a unique item. So far, I didn't have any good ideas except for "vault trinkets". I might change the reward for a new LAER or YCS gauss rifle at some point. I'm looking forward to feedback on the quest reward with some ideas. Apart from that, I'm going to slowly get to "altering" other quests in small, meaningful ways. Next one on the list is Helios One's That Lucky Old Sun. For a list of all new options, play the mod or see the Nexus Mods page. V1.1 slightly increased required science skill checks removed location markers for the "Find Radiation Source" stage. Now you have to actually find the radiation source. Now quest can be properly failed (not soft-locked) in a new way. CREDITS Mod idea originally created by Capacitor. He originally posted an intent to expand his project, but his last mod update was 13 years ago. Hopefully this mod sees his original design fulfilled. Mod made by CsArOs
