Credits: First, credit to mortealre for "Different power of potions weapons armors runes" - where I got the images and code for the 6 additional runes. Also, credit to Kindo for "CEO" - the modified runes from his mod were the basis of some of my runes, although all were still altered in some way. Description: By act 3, I decided I was never really excited about adding runes, the decision of which rune to add was never very difficult, and the selection of runes was leaving a lot to be desired. I already had Kindo's CEO installed, so I searched Nexus Mods for any rune replacements and came across mortealre's Different power of potions weapons armors runes mod. This mod was a complete rebalance of all items in the game, but since I was already in Act 3 and I was happy with everything else from CEO, I decided to unzip his dzip and just modify my CookedPC. Still, I didn't really like the balance of mortealre's runes, so I started modifying his and Kindo's to find a decent balance between power, utility, and selection. In the end, I ended up with 11 different runes that I will often stare at for quite a while in game before deciding which to go with. Runes: Rune of Sun: Damage 2-1 Bleed +10% Vitality Combat Regeneration + .5 Rune of Earth: Damage Reduction on Block +4 Vitality +30 Poison +10% Rune of Moon: Sign Damage +5 Freeze +10% Vigor Combat Regeneration +5% Rune of Fire: Adrenaline on Hit +1 Incinerate +10% Chance of instant kill +2% Rune of Ysgith: Damage 3-2 Vitality Combat Regeneration +.5 Vigor Combat Regeneration +5% Rune of Air: Knockdown +5% Stun +5% Sign Damage +8 Vigor +1 Rune of Sky: Vitality Combat Regeneration +.5 Endurance Combat Regeneration +.5 Vitality +50 Damage Reduction on Block +6 Rune of Night: Backstab Bonus +25% Freeze +10% Damage +7% Rune of Water: Freeze +8% Incinerate +8% Poison +8% Bleed +8% Rune of Day: Adrenaline on hit +1 Incinerate +10% Vitality Combat Regeneration +.5 Vigor Combat Regeneration +5% Rune of Blisk: Sign Damage +10 Vigor Combat Regeneration + 5% Vigor +1 Sign Intensity +5% Shops: I've added a 100% chance for all runes and schematics to be at the Mysterious Merchants in Acts 1 and 2 as well as Bras in Act 3. Installation: If you have no mods that change runes, schematics, shops, or rune stats - copy the CookedPC folder into your Witcher 2 directory and choose to merge folders and replace all files. If you want to merge this with other mods - open each .xml file with a text editor (notepad) and copy and paste what you want to add to the relevant file in your CookedPC folder. Careful, incorrect manipulation will lead to instability. If you get a "Changelist" error when launching the game, you've made a syntax error somewhere. I couldn't get the schematic icons to work without using mortealre's en0.w2strings file, which I didn't want to deal with. You'll live. Feel free to try yourself. Compatibility: Tested with Enhanced Edition version 3.4 and with A TON of mods installed (as well as vanilla). The files I've included are based on the vanilla game to make additional modifications the easiest. I can make it compatible with any mod if you let me know. Distribution: Do whatever you want with it. I couldn't care less. Just give me a shout out. Any questions or problems let me know.
