The files included here will allow a player to re-enable Alternative Vehicle Control (keyboard input) and a choice of alternative keyboard mappings for it. This disables vehicle movement with the mouse, while still controlling view. The following is available for download, make sure to read carefully. Alternative Vehicle Control (mod) Enables Alternative Vehicle Control for vehicle movement with keyboard instead of mouse. Note Alters the following source file: GCVEHICLEGLOBALS.MBIN Disable KeyP (mod) Disables the default use of the P key (keyboard), while leaving the alternative Escape key input for the same functionality in-tact. Useful for those who wish to map the P key to something else, or required for those using Alternative Vehicle Control with a mapping that uses the P key. Place the .pak file(s) in "No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS\..." Make sure to NOT use "No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\MODS\..." Delete or rename the DISABLEMODS.txt file in "No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\..." If you have multiple mods, make sure they are not conflicting when altering the same source file(s). How to use Custom Mappings When using a mod (.pak) Make sure the mod (.pak) is installed correctly After making a backup of the TKGAMESETTINGS.MXML file in the following location, delete it: "No Man's Sky\Binaries\Settings\..."Note: This will delete any custom key mappings you may have had already! You might want to add these back again after. Launch No Man's Sky and it should generate the new custom keyboard mapping. When doing this manually Make a backup of the TKGAMESETTINGS.MXML file in the following location: "No Man's Sky\Binaries\Settings\..." Open the TKGAMESETTINGS.MXML file in any text editor Edit your keyboard mappings manually. You can use the downloads I made available as a template.Note: When you create custom mappings, make sure you do this right. Feel free to ask any questions.
