Better Container Controls 2.0 by CDCooley 2017-05-03 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (SkyUI 2.2 also supported, see below) ********************************************************************* Are you tired of taking everything from a container by accident because of the strange mappings of the E and R keys (or A or X buttons)? Do you get annoyed by the quantity prompt or wish you could put all of your ingredients away with a single command? Better Container Controls changes the default key and button mappings for the container, barter, and gift menus. It even adds some new options for your convenience. Version 2 restores the game default of taking stacks of weightless items from containers and implements categorization of items even in normal containers (thanks to code from bitkipper at NexusMods). ********************************************************************* THE NEW CONTROLS E is now always Take, Give, or Store (depending on your current view). Alt + E moves all of that item without displaying a quantity prompt. Ctrl + E moves only one of the item even if you have a stack of them. Mouse buttons move items by default or equip them if Shift is pressed. Right-click/Left-equip on a book will read it even from a container. R is now always Take All, Take Most, Give Most, or Store Most. Shift + R or Ctrl + R switches to Take Most mode even for containers Alt + R move even more items than the usual Most options. The Take All feature from the original game only works for containers (and in version 2.0 only when you're looking at the category with all items). The new Take/Give/Store Most feature works when sharing items with followers or putting items into containers. Why Most instead of All? You wouldn't want a Give All option when talking to your follower because you will want to keep the clothes and armor you're wearing, your equipped weapons, items you've marked as favorites, your keys, lockpicks, gold, etc. Books and keys aren't transferred in Most mode unless you're looking at just books or just keys or are holding the Alt key when you press R. Most also won't move items with names that begin with a space or the center dot (·) character, or any other items you configure by name in the bcckeys.cfg file. The Take Most/Give Most/Store Most feature works by simulating you pressing E repeatedly. If there are very many items in the container or your inventory the process can be slow. (I don't recommend going to qasmoke and trying it on the All Weapons container, etc.) If you get tired of waiting or something seems to be going wrong simply close the container menu. ********************************************************************* SKYUI 2.2 FOR SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION NOTES SkyUI has not been released officially for Skyrim Specical Edition, but Fhaarkas found that SkyUI 2.2 works with a few minor problems (like the SKSE warning box) and posted how to fix those on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/5awtkm/guide_quick_and_dirty_way_to_remove_skse_warning/ I've taken that process one step further by providing versions of my scripts you can apply to SkyUI 2.2 to get all of the benefits of Better Container Controls and SkyUI 2.2. If you've already used Fhaarkas' guide then applying my scripts will be extremely easy. If you haven't, then it's still easy. Just get the BCC-SkyUI22-ScriptsV20.7z file from the optional files section and follow the step-by-step instructions I've provided in that archive. ********************************************************************* KNOWN AND POTENTIAL MOD CONFLICTS This is compatible with QD Inventory SSE! This will not be compatible with other interface mods that change the bartermenu.swf, containermenu.swf, and giftmenu.swf files. ********************************************************************* CONFIGURATION OPTIONS To set your own options simply rename the bcckeys_example.cfg file included here to bcc_keys.cfg and edit it with any text editor. (It's named bcckeys_example.cfg and you need to rename it to bcckeys.cfg so that your mod manager won't overwrite any changes you might make.) There are instructions and example entries included showing you how to change key and gamepad control mappings, translate the new button labels to your own language, and create a list of items which shouldn't be moved automatically by the Take Most/Give Most/Store Most command. ********************************************************************* INSTALLATION Your mod manager will take care of this if you use one. If installing manually just place the bartermenu.swf, containermenu.swf, giftmenu.swf, and bcckeys.cfg in your game's Data\Inteface folder. ********************************************************************* CREDITS AND LICENSING The container categorization code was developed by bitkipper. Otherwise this mod contains my edits to the games original content. If you want to create a modified or extended version of this mod contact me.
