Terminus Machina Demo Instructions

NOTE: This installer has only been tested on the Deus Ex GOTY version from Good Old Games.  May not work on Steam or other versions.

INSTALLATION

1.) Have Deus Ex installed.
2.) Run "Terminus Machina" which begin setup.  Follow instructions
3.) Place the file "Terminus" in: "MY DOCUMENTS/DEUS EX/TERMINUS/SYSTEM/" folder.

RUNNING THE GAME
********************************************************************

Run Terminus Machina from your start menu, or go to:

GOG/Deus Ex GOTY/Terminus/

and run the "Terminus Machina Shortcut"

CONTROLS
********************************************************************

H - Open hacking menu
M - Toggle minimap + hacking data
N - Toggle Augmented Reality WiFi overlays

Console Commands
"Setdiff (1 - 4)" Sets the game difficulty from 1 (easy) to 4 (very hard)

GAME PLAY
********************************************************************


NOTE about augmentations: augmentations no longer require a medbot in Terminus Machina and can be installed from the aug menu screen.


CRAFTING / INVENTING

1.) Find junk /  random items in the world.  Almost anything can be used to craft including scrap metal, broken phones, even multitools.  
2.) Go to the "Make" menu screen.
3.) Select combinations of objects and click "invent" to test the combination.  If the combination works, a schematic will be added.
4.) Click "Assemble" to make the object from the parts.
5.) Objects can be "Scrapped" which breaks them into their parts.  Some objects need to be scrapped to be useful, others not.
6.) You may need to upgrade skills to make certain objects, or you may suffer a penalty if you have insufficient skills.

NOTE: some augs can be uninstalled and used in crafting.


FACIAL IDENTITY MASKING

1.) Upgrade social engineering skill 
2.) The Nohface augmentation must be created/found and installed before use.  
3.) Capture faces with the sousveiller camera (must be found/made).  
4.) Select the face to use in "Phacebook" menu screen (where Datavault used to be)
-Facial masking can be used against cameras and can also be used in conversations to trick / intimidate / con NPCs.


WIRELESS HACKING

1.) Upgrade computer hacking skill
2.) Press the "Toggle Map" key to turn on the minimap which shows wireless nodes.
3.) Run around till you get in range of a wireless node.
4.) go to the "Hack" menu screen
5.) Click "Sniff" on the target wireless node.
6.) Sniff packets, and then decrypt them by changing algo and table in the Hack screen.
7.) Find username / passwords, other info.


HUNGER

-Calorie meter is displayed in the top left corner.  If calories drop too low, you start losing health till you starve.
-Eat food to replenish.


SOCIAL ENGINEERING

-Affects how well you can con people, similar to "persuasion" in Fallout.  Affects prices of items, affects how well you can identity mask yourself.


BIOHACKING

-Make biohacks using the suitcase biolab item in combination with other items.


NATUREPUNK

-Affects the benefits of food, affects your ability to use gathered plants and hunted animal items.


IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES

-Similar to Demolitions but using DIY devices (created in "Make" screen)


OFFENSIVE ENEMIES

- Being spotted on by a surveillance camera can result in drone airstrikes, connecting to the internet can get your GPS tracked resulting in enemies closing in on your location *anywhere on the map*.  Revealing the wrong information to the wrong individual can result in death or indefinite detention in a re-education camp.  Paranoia is your friend!
