NFS Heat: Police Chase Overhaul by Yorpie Description: My take on the pursuit system in NFS Heat. Features: - The Ford Police Interceptor Utiilty and the Chevrolet Camaro have now been added to the car roster used by the cops during pursuits. - Rhinos have their 'rhino incoming' message removed and their map blip is the same as other cops. - Daytime cops are now on the same level of difficulty as nighttime cops. - Lower heat levels are easier then before while higher heat levels are harder. Each heat level gradually increases in difficulty as to prevent any unwanted difficulty spikes. - Cops have their vision cones increased in size, fines are now twice as expensive, cops take longer before they lose sight of you & police searches now take twice as long. - Skins for the nighttime Dodge Charger as well as the Corvette cops have been changed up a bit. - Got rid of the day/nighttime Corvette variants and instead added a Pursuit & Interceptor variants, both of which will spawn during pursuits. - Heat levels overall take longer to increase. - Police cars have seen some improvements to their vehicles, high end police vehicles now should be able to keep up with 400+ cars and should only be limited by their ability to drive their cars. - Pursuits can be triggered at heat level 0. Just complete challenges during the night untill the heat is about 25% filled up or just honk at a parked cop and they should give chase. - Patrolling cops have been removed since their driving AI sucks, as they crashed into everything and sometimes even into the player triggering a chase. They will however start spawning once your heat level is 1 or higher though. During free roam, you can still find them parked at gas stations and such if you want to trigger a chase. BONUS: The regular version of this mod also increases REP requirements to level up by 50% for all 50 levels, since I thought it went up a bit to fast. There is however a bonus version included without this in case you don't want this. Also included it since I don't if this would feck up the progression for those using the awesome heat+ mod which bumps up the level cap to 70. The Heat Levels: Also note, the heat x.5 refers to the fact that heat levels have two stages. The first stage is whenever your heat increases but when the heat flame icon is filled up about halfway, the difficulty ramps up, so you can consider their being 10 heat levels, spread across 5 'main' heat levels. NO HEAT + Bribes + Parked Cops HEAT LEVEL 0 (trigger this level by filling up the heat bar 25% by completing challenges during the night or simply honk at a parked cop car a few times to aggitate them) + Pursuit Range (cops can now engage you in pursuit, pursuit range refers to the red circle on the minimap, at this level it's only 50 units large) + Blocking Tactic (cops try to get in front of you and slow you down by blocking your path) HEAT LEVEL 1 + Ford Crown Victoria (standard cop cruiser, tops out at 250 kmh) + Ambient Patrols (cops will now start appearing and patrolling the map looking for you) Pursuit Range x100 HEAT LEVEL 1.5 + You can no longer bribe the cops when they spot you + Backup will get called in to assist lone officers, time between backup calls is 40 seconds. All resources will be used against you, maximum roadblock spawn chances, no delays between backup waves,...)
