Final Fantasy III (PC) - Menu Mod Date: 3-14-15 Version: 2.0 Author: Ice Penguin ================================= Known bugs/glitches: -------------------- None! From what I've tested, there are no glitches. However, there are a couple of ODD things you will notice. They are not caused by my mod, so let me explain. :) 1. The new in-game timer doesn't update like a normal FF time clock. This is due to Square Enix not including a timer in FF3 to begin with. Which is totally weird! Right? The timer is still counting, but you can't see it unless you change screens. It updates on screen transitions. 2. In the battle's item menu, you'll see a rogue arrow above the menu pane. This annoys me so much, and I'm sorry. But I could not find the data for this little guy anywhere. I searched the highest mountains, and nothing! I will keep looking, and hopefully with some luck... Again, these things are not a result of my mod. Since this is how they were in the original game. :p About this Mod: --------------- The PC version of Final Fantasy III uses the terrible menus from the Android/iOS version of the game. This mod turns most of the menus into the traditional menu, found in most Final Fantasy games. Almost every menu has been changed since update 2.0! There are still bits of things I'd like to change, but I'm still on the hunt for the elusive data. Until then... Enjoy what is already been changed. :) Eventually, there will be a Bestiary added to the menu, for easy access. Lastly, there is a new font, and a new timer added to the menu, as well! Hope you like it! EXPERIENCE: ----------- + I Love to Grind! = doubles the amount of REQUIRED exp for each LVL up. (original requires 10 million exp to reach level 99 this mod requires 20 million exp) + I Hate to Grind! = reduces REQUIRED exp for each LVL up, by 50%. (this mod requires 5 million exp to reach level 99) QUICKSAVE? ---------- You might notice the "Quicksave" menu option is gone. In this version of the game it is completely useless, because the game has an extra auto- save feature which acts just like the quicksave. This auto-save is done everytime you enter/exit a new map or area. LANGUAGE: --------- This difference between the English and other languages is the menu alignment in the main menu. English is left-aligned, while the others are centered. ================================= Instructions: ------------- 1. Back up your original files before replacing anything. 2. Select which version of the mod you want to use. Each version has three things you need to copy and paste. They are: en.lproj files arial.ttf Copy these 3 things and paste them into the Final Fantasy III directory. It should be located in your Steam folder. The directory paths look like this: \Steam\steamapps\common\Final Fantasy III\en.lproj \Steam\steamapps\common\Final Fantasy III\files \Steam\steamapps\common\Final Fantasy III\arial.ttf 3. Choose to over-write exisiting files. 4. Done! ================================= Version History: ---------------- (2-23-15) Version 1.0 - Initial release. (2-25-15) Version 1.1 - Cleaned up a few menu layouts. For instance, got rid of the ugly grey bar in the status menu. It's now blue with a border. - Changed Nina's text in Ur Village. By default she talks about various game controls, which I didn't like. So I just gave her a few new lines. Nothing too major. - Removed text about the Quicksave feature in the Config hints. - New font! (3-2-15) Version 1.2 - Fixed a text bug with Nina. (my previous changes caused a bug with the text, but now it's fixed) - Cleaned up parts of the magic menu. (3-14-15) Version 2.0 - Battle menus are finished! Yahoo! - Changed the main menu slighty, and prepared a new area above the Gil and Timer. This empty space will be used for the Bestiary, when it's complete. - Fixed other various menus, like the NPC menu, when you give them items. - Look forward to more! ================================= Credits: -------- Square Enix - owns Final Fantasy, and everything contained within this mod.
