I don't like being congratulated for playing a game. I know I'm playing a game--just let me pretend I'm not wasting my life. The first thing to really annoy me about The Witcher 3 was the over-the-top shouting sound effects related to starting new quests, advancing current quests, completing/failing quests, leveling up, etc.. Not only are the sounds, in my opinion, obnoxious, but they do not fit the setting. Tribal shouting? Am I still in fantasy-Poland-vania??? Why yes, I do have a stick up my ass. That's why I bring you this mod, which replaces most journal-related sounds, pertaining to quests as well as formulae/diagrams, while muting altogether the "quest updated" sound, which often plays over dialogue and is a bit superfluous on top of the large "QUEST UPDATED" notification taking up a third of my screen. Install: Place modProperJournalSounds into the \mods directory of your game installation directory. Uninstall: Remove modProperJournalSounds from the \mods directory of your game installation directory. This mod includes the following file: /content/scripts/game/gui/hud/modules/hudModuleJournalUpdate.ws If you use another mod that includes this file, you'll need to merge the changes from this mod yourself, either manually or with a merge tool. I can't vouch for Script Merger, but I imagine it would work fine. However, my changes are simple and it should be easy to manually merge them. Any script merge errors are a problem on your end and are not related to the mod--please don't post about them.
